Our Portland Recycling and Donations Process

âœ… Step One: Contact Affordable Junk Removal LLC

When you’re ready to get started with your junk removal, you can contact us via phone or text. Believe it or not, we actually prefer that you send us a text with a picture of your “junk” so we can provide you with an accurate estimate and plan our recycling and donation schedule accordingly.

With our trailer that holds up to four tons, we’re ready, waiting, and fully prepared to get your items out of your space and into the recycling facility or the hands of someone who can use them.

âœ… Step Two: Asbestos Testing for Construction Items

If you are wanting to donate any construction items, we’ll provide you with the necessary instructions to have your items tested for asbestos before arranging for a pick-up.

Why?

Portland Metro Transfer Station has very strict rules on asbestos, which can affect our ability to remove and/or donate items such as …

  • Anterior walls and ceilings

  • Exterior walls

  • Flooring

  • Insulation/fireproofing materials

  • Gaskets

  • Heating

  • Roofing materials

  • Fire doors, fire/kiln brick, and fireproofing

  • Various compounds

  • Electrical materials

… from construction sites.

Before we can schedule a pick-up or construction junk, an asbestos test must be completed to ensure we’re complying with all the rules and regulations.

âœ… Step Three: Schedule Your Recycling and Donations Removal

The next step is to schedule your junk removal!

All you have to do after you schedule your pick-up is leave your junk in a designated area. Our team will arrive equipped with the necessary equipment and tools to load, haul, and get rid of your unwanted items.

But Affordable Junk Removal LLC doesn’t stop at “getting rid” of your unwanted “junk”. We work with our clients to donate and recycle their items to serve the homeless community, victims of domestic abuse, and the environment.

Reduce, reuse, and renew — that’s how we like to think of things.
